David is a virtuoso Trumpet and Cornetto player specializing in playing, directing and researching music from the Renaissance to Classical period.
David’s career has taken
him all over the world and he has recorded with all the
major companies. He has recorded all of the great trumpet
parts of J S Bach, including six recordings and numerous
performances of the second Brandenburg concerto. He has
performed all types of music written for the trumpet,
including recording well known TV and film scores and
programs for the BBC. He has given trumpet & organ
recitals all over Europe with the Japanese organist Ryoko
Morooka and made concerto appearances on both modern and
old trumpet in more than 20 countries. In 2007 his work
continues with his own ensemble “Clarino” and Frans
Bruggen’s Amsterdam based “Orchestra of the Eighteenth
Century”. Solo engagements take him to thirteen different
countries. David is an experienced teacher and he has given
master-classes and seminars for both the International
Trumpet Guild, the Historic Brass Society and for
Universities and Conservatoires worldwide. He is
increasingly in demand as a director and consultant for all
manner of productions. He has directed ensembles in
Australia, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Poland, England and
Spain.
